Thank you for taking part in our national
survey. The results of which will be communicated with the
Government and influential bodies who are also campaigning on
these issues, so that all SMEs can be heard.
The Survey received just under 1000 responses after 7 days. The
results collected from the survey determined that 82% of
employers would benefit from a more flexible furlough option,
allowing them to have staff work a few days a week and then
furlough them for the remainder of the week. For many employers
this would allow them to reintroduce up to 10 employees back to
work on a flexible week pattern, allowing their business to
continue operating.
We also asked employers if they had staff who they were unable to
furlough due to the scheme=E2=80=99s criteria e.g. they must have been
on the companies PAYE Payroll by the 19th March. Our survey
revealed that from those who responded to the survey, 35.7% of
employers have encountered this issue and would benefit from a
change such as, eligibility based on the date the employee was
'employed' from. In some instances, we found that the current
criteria has excluded at least over 1000 employees from the
scheme.
We have reported these findings to members of parliament, and we
hope that we will be able to progress in our campaign to ensure
yours and all SME voices are heard.

determined that 82% of employers would benefit from a more flexible furloug=
h option, allowing them to have staff work a few days a week and then furlo=
ugh them for the remainder of the week. For many employers this would allow=
them to reintroduce up to 10 employees back to work on a flexible week pat=
tern, allowing their business to continue operating. </p>

if they had staff who they were unable to furlough due to the scheme=E2=80=
=99s criteria e.g. they must have been on the companies PAYE Payroll by th=
e 19th March. Our survey revealed that from those who responded to the surv=
ey, 35.7% of employers have encountered this issue and would benefit from a=
change such as, eligibility based on the date the employee was 'employed' =
from. In some instances, we found that the current criteria has excluded at=
least over 1000 employees from the scheme. </p>
