Standard vs fault-tolerant configuration on a repeater panel
Customers often convert between standard and fault-tolerant network applica=
tions when expanding a fire system or at the later stages of a project.=C2=
=A0 For control panels, this is achieved by simply changing the network car=
d.=C2=A0 For remote control/display terminals, the process is slightly diff=
erent.=C2=A0 Please bear in mind when ordering a remote control terminal th=
at the part code identifies its factory configuration as either standard or=
fault tolerant.
Conversion is achieved using an onboard EPROM selection component mounted o=
n the reverse of the printed circuit board. EPROM insertion/removal tools a=
re widely available from suppliers and make it easier to position component=
s and prevent mechanical damage.
